Craving for God
Sri Ramchandraji had inner craving* for God from a very young age. At the age of six or seven, when he often saw his mother performing traditional worship, he requested her to teach him the Puja she was doing. She used to apply sandalwood paste on his forehead
and he used to feel very happy. But he learnt soon that this is not the real thing. At the age of 9, he started reading Bhagavad Gita but he could not grasp the condition he was craving for by reading. Later he asked a local priest to prescribe* some method of worship. The priest told him to recite “Rama, Rama”. He did this also for seven days at the fixed hours but did not find any change in his condition. Then he tried to do idol worship and found it gross and dragging him further low. Therefore he gave it up.
He was praying all the time for a good and capable master and decided at the age of 14 that if he went at all with this idea to anyone he would definitely accept him as such. Such was the development of his will by then. Somehow he came to know that there was a good guide, Samarth Guru Mahatma Sri Ram Chandraji Maharaj At Fatehgarh (UP). On the auspicious day of 3rd June 1922, he reached the feet of his Master. He found his Master and has accepted Him totally.
